Americans, on average, plan to visit four different destinations in 2024, according to a new survey. Conducted by YMT Vacations and OnePoll, the survey of 2,000 travelers revealed that 51% are looking for a relaxing vacation, while 43% prioritize cultural exploration and 38% want to visit historical sites.
25% expressed a desire to explore new and unknown places. And ¡n 2024, people are looking to travel outside their comfort zones. México, Cariada and France were voted as the top vacation destinations with 42%. Spain follows closely with 40%, Italy with 32% and Greece with 21%.
When choosing a new destination, nature and landscapes were the most important factors for 58% of travelers, followed by historical attractions (50%).
The survey also highlighted the influence that televisión shows and movies have on people’s travel choices. 44% admitted that televisión shows inspire their travel decisions, with «Emily in París» (21%) and «The White Lotus» (16%) as popular choices.
Movies were also influential (36%), with «Triangle of Sadness» (16%) and «Top Gun: Maverick» (13%) mentioned as notable films that inspired them to travel.
